Day 2 - Friday 23rd May, 2008
Troy brought the devotion this morning on 'coming home'...how happy God must be when we are in relationship with him and we find our home in him. Yesterday, dad shared how happy he was to have us all there in his 'homeplace' and how much this meant to him. It was a great devotion to start the day off! The Makaea family arrived )this morning with Sila's parents Jacko & Lei (awesome family). We all met @ 11am and went to Piula Theological College to visit our cousin Uma Haini (nee Eki) who has been there for almost a year (next month). Her husband Niki is studying for 3yrs and they have 1 daughter - Sheniah who is 5. We stopped off at a dairy on the way through (at every village you'll find a shop - this is how locals make money). The college campus is sooo big. We all went to Piula caves and nearly everyone swam. We also met Paul (who has been stuyding for 4 years and is doing his masters)...they are also from Australia. Afterwards, we all went to Pinati's Restaurant for their SAT$3 meal, late lunch/dinner. Because there were 50 of us, they just gave us supa sui, curry and laisa. Some of us wanted fried chicken (yum, very unhealthy) but they make the bomb food for a cheap price! It was stinkin hot!!! They have coke in bottles 750ml ones that we use to have 20 yrs ago!!! They sell them for $3.30 - $3.60 or at the hotel $12. Samoan TV's a blast....very behind the times in technology!
